Wine is amazing, but the art that can come from it is beautiful. I’m not talking about making art while drinking (although that would be interesting). I’m talking about the things you can make from your used wine bottle. There are so many variations of wine bottle art that I wouldn’t be able to list them all but here are a few of my favorites.

Tinting your bottles:

So, this is my first of my favorites.  I love the blue tinted jars and bottles. That old apothecary look is just pleasant to my soul. This is simple to do and well worth it.

What you’ll need:

  • Wine bottles (you can also add in some small jars you’ll like tinted too)
  • Mod-Podge (the gloss kind)
  • Food Coloring
  • Wax paper
  • Baking Pan

What to do:

  1. Peel the labels off the bottles.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl (use cups if you want different shades), mix together the mod-podge and food coloring. You don’t have to measure just throw it in there. (You can use whatever colors you’d like, teal, blue and turquoise are the most popular)
  3.  After mixing it well, pour it in the jars. I suggest doing this over a towel because mod-podge can be messy.
  4. Swirl the jars around until the entire inside is covered with the mixture.
  5. Next, place wax paper on the baking pan, then two layers of paper towel. Take your bottles and place them upside down on the pan.
  6. Leave them upside down for an hour. The extra mixture will go to the bottom.
  7. After an hour, flip the bottles right side up and place them on a clean piece of wax paper in the pan.  (The bottles will still be wet).  Bake them for 45 minutes to an hour at 225 degrees.
  8. Once you take them out, let them cool Once they cool they should look like the ones in the photo.

Enjoy!

This idea is so cool to me! It’s super easy and very cute!

What you’ll need:

  • Hot glue gun
  • Paint

What to do:

  1. Write your word on the bottle using the hot glue gun. Let that cool.
  2. Paint over the entire bottle including bottle.

This can also be used as a eye-catching centerpiece for weddings and other events.

What are more ideas that people have used wine bottles for?

  • Candy jars

These are just a few of the interesting things you can create using wine bottles. Have anything to add? Comment and let me know!
