In my living room I have a dark green rug, it was my mother’s and probably even her mothers. It goes nicely with our furniture and the space but there’s one problem. I am CONSTANTLY vacuuming that rug. When my friends and family call and say they’re coming over I panic and run straight to the closet to grab the vacuum. Then I run into another even more aggravating problem. My vacuum was from 1980 and literally about 6 huge parts to put together. By the time I get the vacuum together, my friends are already driving up.  My quest for a better vacuum cleaner lead to some serious research.  So, here are the best vacuum cleaner reviews that came out of my research to save you the trouble, and these should get you vacuuming in style!   After all, what’s the point in taking the trouble to decorate your home immaculately, if the housekeeping isn’t up to par?  Good housekeeping is vital to good home decor!

This is a BISELL clean view upright one pass, it is said to have great suction and work very well. It is lightweight and easy to use. Not to mention it has a turbo brush for furniture, stairs, upholstery, and more. This vacuum is great for people who have small places to reach and want to get there easily. It’s also great for bare flooring! You can use it on just about any surface! Even tile! This is also ideal for pet owners, it picks up even the longer hair from dogs and cats!

Here’s another BISELL product, this is the Bissell bagless canister vacuum. Forget the vacuum bags because this stylish vacuum doesn’t need one to go from surface to surface. You can go from vacuuming your carpet straight to hardwood and back to tile with the flip of a switch. It also can go into small spaces and also be stored in small areas. Not only can it be stored in small spots but it can be picked up easily and moved around. This vacuum is great for someone who has limited space and a tight budget, but needs a good vacuum cleaner that will be simple and effective.

This vacuum cleaner from Oreck is basic, but don’t stop reading there because it has something special about it! It has no frills, no big fancy features, nothing like that BUT it is only 8 lbs. Just about anyone can lift and move around 8 lbs! It is so light that even a kid can use this! It also works wonderfully and it is good for wood floors! It’s not bagless but the bag doesn’t have to be changed often. It is also very simple to assemble, it has only two screws for you to put in and you can get to work!

Then there’s the Shark Navigator Lift Away Professional. This vacuum is highly rated by pet owners everywhere! It will get any hair out of your carpets and rugs! But don’t think that you’re limited to just carpets and rugs because this can also go from surface to surface with no problems! It is also maneuverable so you can twist and turn the vacuum and get any spaces, even under coffee tables and beds! It has great suction so you can get rid of the dirt and trash in the carpet and if you don’t want the suction as high on your hardwood flooring then you can change the suction settings. But you don’t have to worry about scratches and scuff marks because this vacuum won’t hurt your flooring at all! If you have a tendency to clean when others are asleep then this one is for you! This is quieter than most vacuums and works just as good if not better!

Finally, here’s what I would consider the gold standard in vacuum cleaners, the Dyson DC65 Animal Complete Upright Vacuum Cleaner.  The manufacturer makes the bold claim that the DC65 has the strongest suction compared to any other upright vacuum.  It has a reconfigured brush bar and uses radial root cyclone technology to remove more dirt and dust.  The ball technology allows the head to swivel better than any other vacuum thereby making it easier to steer into difficult areas.  It also has a self adjusting cleaner head that allows you to seamlessly move from one floor type to another.  Not to mention this is a beautiful vacuum with a great innovative design.  Its certainly one of the priciest models, so it may not be for everybody.  However, if you can afford it, I’d highly recommend this one as a great long term vacuum cleaner!

Are your vacuuming habits not getting the job done?  Having a great vacuum is only the first step; proper technique will give you a cleaner home with less time and effort.  Here’s a video showing how to correctly vacuum:

That’s definitely fantastic post that i personally like to appreciate. I already have a Bissell for my pets. But I need another one for my mom. She obviously like to use it in rugs and carpets.

    Hello Adrian,

How grateful of you sharing this post. It was wonderful. I have an old upright vacuum and I was looking for a replacement, so I’ve gone on some review sites to know much of these latest vacuum thingy…not much familiar though. Are the canister vacuum, like the Bissell bagless canister vacuum, more convenient than any other vacuum?

    Thanks in advance. 🙂
