Romance in the Powder Room

Romance in the Powder RoomA luxurious bathroom is all the rave, and this is a marvelous example of how to achieve the same look without the same price tag.

We love how the counter tops are kept clean of clutter, and the towels are neatly folded and presented onto a marble tray. It mimics that of a hotel bathroom. For a powder room you might want to consider substituting paper towels instead for your party guests.

The lightening is dimmed and glows beautifully against the black furnishings and accessories. The colors are rich and complement one another in a stunning fashion. The long mirrors add to the extravagant appeal and reflect the lights and colors for a mesmerizing effect. Since we are only using a few items, we want to pay extra attention to detail. In the mirrors above we see delicate dotted piping around the border of the mirrors which builds character.

Once again we are seeing frames vertically lined up along the length of the wall, extending the room. If you can, use a single, long photo to accent the room to tie in the room. If you do choose to work the small frames, make sure the frames are all a single color.

To keep the look streamline, clear glass bathroom accessories were chosen to highlight the other aspects of the room instead. While the room is primarily bare, the simple approach emphasizes on the products already there.

To bring this room to the next level, you could add elegant and stylish knobs to the bathroom cabinets. In this particular look the focus was the mirrors and the knobs were painted black. However, silver or crystal knobs would complement the overall look and mood of the room perfectly.

Hi, Thank you for the compliment! I think these mirrors are too narrow to be able to place them horizontally. You can check out the about placed link to Amazon for a wider mirror, and there are several more options on Amazon that are better suited for horizontal placement.

Knobs are usually selected to match the rest of the fixtures. For example: brushed nickel faucets, shower head will get all brushed nickel knobs to match. Its an old article, so not sure about the paint/pic.

Well, I think the way you choose the paint color and the lights makes the room more modern and luxurious. And I love the way the frames are arranged. Nice job!
