Aldi Shopping List and Meal Plan for Feeding a Family of 4 on Less Than 50 a Week

Although this isn’t an article about home decor, I figured I’d shared these tips for our readers that are on a tight budget.  After all, everybody has to eat, so why not do it in the most cost efficient manner possible.  Following are some tips and resources, including a Aldi Shopping List to feed a family of 4 on less than $50 per week!  In case you’re not familiar with Aldi, its a grocery store chain that’s big in Europe, and now has stores all over the eastern United States.  They are soon expanding to the west coast with stores in California.  They focus on value pricing and try to keep prices low by incorporating ideas like accepting only cash or debit cards in order to avoid the cost of credit card fees.

Whole chicken

1 lb. ground beef

10 lb. potatoes
Cheese slices
Smoked sausage
Three bell peppers
Four-pack tomatoes
Tomato sauce
Tomato paste
Orange juice
Fresh green beans
Whole wheat bread
Peanut butter
Whole wheat pasta
2 gallons milk
Romaine hearts
Canned pears
Garlic bread

Note that a “family of 4” could consume drastically different quantities of food depending on whether the kids are little girls or high school football players.  So, adjust for your family accordingly, and treat these examples for what they are: great examples of frugal eating!  Take these ideas, make them your own, and figure out the special deals at your local grocery store, so you can make the best of them!
